Dutch Pioneer Meldt van der Spuy arrived in Cape Town in 1707 only to fall in love with the city’s majestic vineyards and mountains by the sea. Upon acquiring one of only four liquor licenses in the Cape at the time, Meldt found his fortune by trading Cape Town’s finest wines with the world.

By continuing Meldt’s tradition through the Cape Town Wine Co. the Van der Spuy Family hereby pays tribute to our forefather’s legacy and love of fine food and wine.
